Western Bureau:

While the expected goal spree did not come, last year's beaten finalists, Manchester High School, notched their fourth consecutive win in the 2010 ISSA/Pepsi/ Digicel daCosta Cup rural schoolboy football competition yesterday afternoon, clipping Porus High School 2-1 in their Zone G fixture at the Porus Community Centre.

By virtue of their win, the Barry Watson-coached Manchester High team now lead the zone with maximum 12 points - three more than second place Knox College, which did not have a scheduled game yesterday.

Oral Johnson scored both goals for Manchester High.

"It was a tough game, the Porus team played us with a lot of intensity and we only managed the go-ahead goal late in the match," said Watson. "We are happy for this win but a lot of credit should go to our opponents."

Over in Zone H, the fancied Lennon High rebounded from last Saturday's loss to Clarendon College with a 3-2 win over Thompson Town. Lennon now lead the zone with nine points, but they have played two more games than second place Clarendon College, who have maximum six points from two games.

Zone J leader Charlemont High made it three wins from three starts, handing McGrath High a 5-3 defeat - the second defeat in as many games for McGrath.
