Theatre Artists Benevolent Fund waits a little longer
Inclement weather might just impact many of events scheduled for this weekend, and one event too important to take a chance with is the novel two-in-one suite of plays, being mounted by Jamaica Association of Dramatic Artists (JADA) at Centre stage, New Kingston.
The event has been rescheduled for October 15 and will run until the 17th at Theatre Place, 8 Haining Road, Kingston.
The suite of plays includes Josephine's Night Out - a play in one act for one actor - starring Christine Ann Bell, while the other is Ms Burton Gets a Promotion, starring multi-talented Rishille Bellamy-Peliece.
Tickets which were bought for this weekend are still valid for the day and time specified on each ticket.
Raise funds
The running of the plays is intended to mark the start of JADA's efforts to raise funds toward establishing the Theatre Artistes Benevolent Fund.
That fund, according to a release from the group, will help members of the theatre community who are in need of urgent assistance in meeting pressing health and other expenses.
Ms Burton Gets a Promotion premiered at the Kingston on the Edge (KOTE) theatre night recently. Bellamy-Peliece plays Ms Burton. The play, which also includes Keiran King, is directed by two-time Actor Boy Award Best Actress winner, director and producer, Nadean Rawlings.
Josephine's Night Out is written and directed by Basil Dawkins.
