Murdock for US Nationals

 National practical shooting grandmaster, Lesgar Murdock, leaves the island today to compete in the United States Practical Shooting Association's Handgun Nationals.

The championships will be held from October 8-16 at the Destert Sportsmen Range in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Murdock, a many-time competitor at the US championships, had his best ever finish last year when he placed fourth out of 281 competitors in the open division, and seventh overall in the limited division.

The local marksman has not had as much practice as last year, but still expects to do well.

"I won the last series in a World Shoot qualifier at the Jamaica Rifle Association range on Mountain View Avenue, so I am feeling pretty comfortable," Murdock said on Tuesday.

The open division of the championships will take place over the first four days, while the limited championships is on the last three days.
