ONLINE FEEDBACK
Below are edited excerpts from comments posted online at www.jamaica-gleaner.com by readers to yesterday's lead story, 'Change of heart', about Karl Samuda reversing his decision not to stay on as Jamaica Labour Party general secretary.
Devouring each other
The wolves are at it again. They always seem to turn on each other.

A devalued product
Samuda reminds me of some of the senators in Washington. Despite their diminishing rate of returns and deflated stock price, they have conveniently geared their attention towards the most potent types of adhesives, which they have used to attach themselves to their chairs.
So, the question now becomes: when exactly is the elastic band too worn for the brief to be withdrawn from circulation? Just checking!

Have a heart, please!
Mr Samuda, please don't insult our intelligence. You are re-entering the race because you are not able to resist the prompting of the Jamaica Labour Party 'old guards', who are hell-bent on bringing the party into disrepute.
Samuda, have a heart and give the party some room to breathe.

What's the game?
This is too much vacillating, indecisiveness and shilly-shallying on the part of Mr Samuda re running for the Jamaica Labour Party's general secretary position. What is really going on, Mr Samuda ?

Too many distractions
The Jamaica Labour Party needs a 'unifier' to bring about healing, seeing that it is in Government. Given its slim majority, too many ministers, etc, have to be spending hours smoothing out internal issues instead of governing.
They should remember that nearly 40 per cent of Jamaicans do not vote for either party and that it is non-members who determine victories in elections. Thus, there must be respect for them and their opinions and sensitivities.
We hope good sense will prevail.
