"Music is my true love," said Owen Brown. "It was always music that I wanted to do, but I kinda got caught up in the hype of travelling overseas to represent the national team," he later added.
Having started boxing in 1994, Brown has been a part of the national amateur boxing team and has won medals in two of his outings with the team. He won a bronze in Aruba in 1999 and a gold in Montego Bay.
He was then granted a contract to train in the United States, but later decided to venture into a musical career as many of his boxing matches were continuously being postponed.
For the past two years, Brown has been working hard to perfect his new craft, as he has dropped his boxing dreams in order to pursue his first love: music.
Brown, who goes by the stage name 'Endeavor', said he is inspired by reggae star, Anthony Cruz and what he terms, his amazing flow and delivery.
With songs such as Sunset and the recently recorded My Queen, Endeavor is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to have his day.
Great love for music
"I have great love for music and I believe that with this single (My Queen), people can relate about love and accept me and the music I do," said Endeavor.
In 2008, Endeavor became his own manager, after creating his record label, Choice Productions, under which he released My Queen, which has been getting heavy rotation on the airwaves and on mix tapes.
Endeavor is looking to use his versatility as well as his unique singing style to capture the ears of Jamaicans.
"I believe I am ready for the world and I hope they will accept me and my music, as I have a unique voice which I want to use to uplift the people with love," said Endeavor.
