Waterford, JC clash in Manning Cup

Defending Walker Cup champions, Jamaica College (JC), will face a tricky challenge today when they travel to play Waterford High in their Group A Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup urban area senior schoolboy football competition. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.

JC lead the group with 16 points after registering five wins and a draw. They have been in impressive goal-scoring form finding the back of the net 36 times, while conceding two goals. In their most recent outing they blanked Oberlin 8-0. They were however held to a one-all draw at home in their first-round encounter with Waterford.

Waterford lie second in the group on 10 points from four games. They have only managed nine goals, while conceding three. They got by Camperdown 1-0 in their latest outing courtesy of a strike from captain Rohan Daley. Daley is also the school's leading scorer with four goals.

The group is completed by Camperdown (10), Cumberland (three), St Mary's College (two) and Oberlin (zero).
