Track Price announces 'Next Price Up'
TRACK Price Plus, the island's largest bookmaking company, will make a further concession to clients on local racing with its 'Next Price Up' promotion which commences at the Heroes Day race meet on Monday, October 18.
This entails paying increased win dividends from that declared at Caymanas Park in select races - the next-highest odds.
As a prelude to the promotion, Track Price Plus will pay a 10 per cent bonus on the dividend declared on the winner of tomorrow's $2.95 million Supreme Ventures' feature, the Cash Pot 'Only One For Me' Trophy over 1200 metres, the ninth race on the card.In a throwback to the days of its founding fathers, Melvin 'Babu' Chin and Lucien Chen, who founded the company on its pledge to pay track price, plus added dividend, the bookmaking company has once again broken new ground.
Under the new format, there will be no such thing as a 1-9 money-back favourite in 'Next Price Up' selected races, as this dividend would automatically be adjusted to 1-5, returning $48 to win instead of $40. The same applies to 3-1, which will become 7-2, 4-1 to 9-2 and 5-1 to 6-1, etc. under the Track Price Plus promotion. This is in accordance with Rule No. 70 Clause (A & B).
Additionally, Track Price Plus will add 10 per cent to dividends for odds of 11-1 to 99-1.
The chart for the bonus races will be marked on Track Price Plus local racing programmes.
According to Arnella Chin, operations manager of Track Price Plus, this gesture by the company is an extension of what obtains in select races on English racing for the past year or two, where the company pays a 10 per cent bonus on win dividends.
"But local racing is ever dearer to punters and we are sure that 'Next Price Up' will be greatly appreciated by them in these harsh economic times," said Chin.
