Jamaica College (JC) booked their place in the second round of this season's Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup urban area senior schoolboy football competition, after registering a comfortable 4-1 win over Camperdown in their Group A encounter yesterday at the JC playing field.
Ashani Walker (16th), Kemar Prince (19th), Junior Flemmings (40th) and Jory Watson (76th) scored for JC, while Camper-down's consolation was netted by Ricardo Oldham (79th).
Unbeaten record
With the win, JC kept intact their unbeaten record and remain atop the group's standings with 19 points, followed by Waterford (16), who have played two games fewer.
This was third-place Camperdown's (10) last chance of keeping their hopes of progressing to the second round alive, but they got off to a bad start when JC's prolific goalscorer, Walker, volleyed home his 12th goal of the season in the 16th minute.
JC's assistant coach, Delroy Brown, said: "Improved energy levels from my team, we really looked good today. We have showed that we are here to stamp our authority on this competition this year."
Camperdown's coach, Orlando Clarke, is already looking forward to next season.
"We have most of the players, so next season where we fall short in terms of experience those players should be able to use this experience and make next season more productive."
