For more than 10 years, 32-year-old Nikeisha Gordon has been continuing the family tradition. With numerous cousins and aunts who are chefs overseas, for the last six years, she has been perfecting her skills at Cuddy'z in achieving her goal of one day becoming a pastry chef.

She cooked her first pot of rice when she was only seven years old and though it was salty, that was the first and last time she got anything wrong in the kitchen.

"You get to express yourself," she told Food, expressing her love for her craft. "You have to love it and love what you do. I always get comments from customers who say they can feel the love I put into it." A past student of Clan Carty High School, she is looking forward to another Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week. Cuddy'z has been involved in the event from the beginning and, if it is possible, during the week the hip spot becomes even more vibrant with scores of new customers. And they will definitely be in for a treat this year as Cuddyz recently revealed their new menu packed with new dishes that deliver a kaleidoscope of flavours such as Juggling Jerk Jambalaya - a tasty combination of pasta topped with jerk sausage and shrimp.
