Congo (AP):

A Congolese official said two people died when their small plane crashed into a gorilla park in eastern Congo yesterday.

Provincial Transportation Minister Laban Kashande said the small cargo plane crashed in Kahuzi-Biega National Park, which is home to endangered eastern lowland gorillas. He said yesterday's crash killed the Filipino pilot and his Congolese co-pilot. UN Radio said there were no survivors.

Kashande said the plane was owned by a local airliner called Starec Congo and was carrying some 3,300 pounds (1,500 kilograms) of commercial goods.

He said officials were still investigating the cause of the crash.
