The Pick-9 again proved elusive on Heroes Day at Caymanas Park on Monday, and the carryover to tomorrow's meet stands at $1.4 million. With only nine races on the programme, the Pick-9 will embrace all the races, while the first Super-6 will be conducted from race two to seven, with the overlapping Super-6 chipping in from race four.

We look at the second Super-6 which kicks off with a $450,000- $420,000 claiming race in which nine starters have been declared.

Indications are, it will come down to a straight fight between the consistent SHE'S MAGIC (female rider Georgina Sergeon up) and the lightly raced three-year-old gelding THE KING AND I, to be ridden by champion jockey Omar Walker for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta.

The grey SHE'S MAGIC finished 21/2 lengths third to TOP COMMANDER in a fast-run race over this trip on October 2, loves this particular distance, having won four races over same, and is very fit.

Difficult

Despite all that, preference is for THE KING AND I, who notched his last win over this trip back in April in the smart time of 1:05.3. True, he has proved difficult to train (pool) since. But now thrown in for a tag, the Region Of Merit offspring should be able to take care of claiming company.

GENERAL CURLIN, who is proving expensive to follow, has not been running badly after all, and gets the nod over STORM TRACKER and GHOST RAPPER in the fifth race over 1400 metres to be contested by seven starters. Walker again has the ride.

SUPER CENTRE, who was a beaten favourite behind MERIT'S BRITE LITE over 1820m last Saturday, gets the ideal trip in the sixth race over 1400m and should make no mistake. In the seventh, it should be the lightly raced WINNIANA (Trevor Simpson up), who had no luck in running (hindered) last Saturday behind FATTY BUM BUM in the $2.95 million Cash Pot 'Only One For Me' Trophy race over 1200 metres, finishing nine lengths fifth. The Philip Feanny-trained 2-y-o filly could be used as a banker in a field of 12 maidens

The Royal Dad Trophy (8th race) over 1820 metres should resolve itself into a straight fight between old rivals RAISE A RUCKUS and PRINCE ROHAN. When both last met over the distance on September 15, RAISE A RUCKUS, with Winston Griffiths aboard, held on by half a length to beat the fast-finishing PRINCE ROHAN, who renews rivalry on 4.0kg better terms, sufficient to turn the tables.

Recent course winner BULLET TRAIN along with the course specialists LITTLEREDCORVETTE, MEDSTAR and FIRST EDITION should fight it out in the closing Alex's Imports 'Dig Out' Handicap over the straight five course in a field of 14. I like LITTLEREDCORVETTE, with Georgina Sergeon now taking the ride.
