Female apprentice Georgina Sergeon was on Tuesday slapped with a three-day suspension by the stewards for careless riding aboard THE GUARDIAN in the seventh race, the None Such Sprint, at Caymanas Park last Saturday.

Sergeon, who recently moved into the top-10 list of riders for the season with 22 winners, was penalised for causing interference to the favourite BRASH & SASSY leaving the 600-metre point of the course in the race won by HONEYOFALADY.

Her suspension will begin on Wednesday, October 27.

Also suspended at the same hearing was fellow apprentice Robert Halledeen.

He faced the stewards for three offences and, like Sergeon, was suspended for three racedays for careless riding aboard the winning horse RIFLEMAN in the second race last Saturday, his mount causing interference to the favourite TOBAGO in the last 300 metres. His suspension commences tomorrow.

Halledeen, riding THE BEST MAN, was severely cautioned for the interference caused to FLAGAMAN in the vicinity of the 300-metre point in the sixth race on Wednesday, October 6.

In the seventh race on the same programme, Hallendeen had his explanation accepted for the intimidation and interference caused to LADY NENITA leaving the 200-metre point.

Apprentice Chalrick Budhai, who rode NAHIMA in the fifth race on Wednesday, September 22, also had his explanation accepted after he was summoned by the stewards to explain the riding of his mount.
