Barefoot style

WESTERN BUREAU: Junior 'Flette' Barnes and Michelle Eason's Barefoot Party bloomed last Sunday night after six years of honing what has become western Jamaica's most celebrated pre-Heroes Day event.
Now a must-attend on the calendar of 16- to 30-year-olds, they donned the most creative and daringly sexy beach wear, decorating the Tropical Beach, Montego Bay, venue with a kaleidoscope that illuminated the venue with some of the most imaginative colours.
As is normal during the month of October, the temperamental rainfall reared its head early, hoping to cool the sweltering heat that the young seductresses exuded in 'Barefoot' style.
Of course, these party people were not dissuaded by the water that threatened their event. By midnight Sunday, the road leading to the fishing village in Whitehouse where Tropical Beach is located was lined with drivers anxious to get to the venue.
By 2 a.m., enough feet were stomping the sand for DJ Jazzy T, Miami's 'Richie D', Black Chiney and 'Dutty Dex' to have a friendly clash until the appearance of star performers Marion 'Lady Saw' Hall, Ricardo 'Khago' Gayle, Sheldon 'Aidonia' Lawrence, Rodney 'Bounty Killer' Pryce and David 'Mavado' Brooks.
This year the Outlook team partied until 6 a.m. to bring you highlights from the event.
