ONLINE FEEDBACK

Looks bad
There should be laws passed to prevent sitting members of the house, for example Delroy Chuck, participating in private business while serving. This is where corruption is bred.
Mr Holness' wife runs the company that is building the project; he is an MP and minister, Mr Chuck is the Speaker of the House and is giving legal representation on the project. This looks bad.

Guilt by association
Why are we adopting the American culture of guilt by association? The story clearly depicts that this is all about Mrs Holness, so why then are implicating Mr Holness in all of this? Unless you catch me with my hand in the jar, you cannot accuse me of stealing because you saw my spouse eating a cookie. That's just outright unfair

Let the development go ahead
My question is: What's up with these people who do not want to see decent, modern housing in their neighbourhood? What do they want some little zinc-fence structures usually found in the run-down ghetto areas of downtown Kingston?
It never ceases to amaze me how Jamaicans seem to have a problem with modernity. They never seem to have a problem with the dilapidated run-down, grimy, unsanitary nature of most places in Kingston, yet every time anything modern is attempted, there is a big hullabaloo.
Kingston is already too sprawling a city. Building little hut-looking structures will only spread the city out more and worsen the ghetto appearance. Going vertical is what most cities are doing today. So why do these people want to stay stuck in the 18th century?
I think these people who are opposing development should be ignored. With the shortage of decent housing in Jamaica, it is imperative that this development proceeds.
