Advantage Generals, Buccs for LIME Cup
It will be a repeat matchup of last year's final when defending champions Buccaneers of Appleton Estate and Advantage Generals, the losing finalists in 2009, meet in the final of the LIME Cup at Caymanas Golf and Country Club on November 14.
The Buccaneers, who have in their line-up national representatives Wayne Chai and Rory Jardine, and captain Metry Seaga, advanced to the final after defeating LIME Lions 8-2, while Advantage Generals topped SportsMax Max Pak 8.5-1.5 in the final set of group matches played at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course, Montego Bay, last Sunday.
"We rested several players and gave an opportunity for others to play, but everyone will be back for the finals," said Seaga.
"We are looking forward to the final, and we are confident that we will come out on top."
National representative Sean Morris, who is captain of Advantage Generals, has so far played a leading role, along with Dale Delaphena and Neil Baugh, in their team's progress to the final.
Morris said his team is looking forward to the clash.
"It's the second time around and we are looking to go one better this time," said Morris.
In other results last Sunday at Cinnamon Hill, Jamaica Money Market Brokers stopped Pure Country Springs 8-2 and will play off against LIME for third place.
Fifth place will be decided between Pure Country Springs and SportsMax Max Pak.
