South Central Confed
A record seven St Catherine-based teams will contest the new season of the South Central Confed Super league which starts later this month.
The league secretariat, based at the Manchester FA office, confirmed the registration of Rivoli, Tru-Juice, Naggo Head, Meadows, Newlands, Dela Vega and Bodles.
Rivoli owes its presence due to relegation from the Digicel Premier League at the end of last season. Meadows won the competition last year but failed to get beyond the Premier League play-offs. De la Vega, who won the St Catherine Major League, makes a return to this level after an absence of close to 15 years.
Meadows' failure to gain Premeir League qualification worked to the detriment of St Elizabeth FA, who had both their two contestants relegated. Leeds United were initially relegated after failing to finish the competition, while Tafari Lions were sacrificed to make way for Rivoli.
The 12-team limit means that only Beacon, who won the St Elizabeth Major league, will represent that parish. They have since changed their name to Newell United and have listed as their home venues, Hounslow and the Treasure Beach football park.
Manchester and Clarendon will each field two teams. Mile Gully, who competed in the Premier League 13 years ago, and briefly in the South Central Confed in the mid 90s, return to partner Downs in Manchester's bid. Monymusk and 'new kid' New Bowens are the Clarendon teams.

JNBS Masters League
Phillip Riley registered his league-leading 14th goal of the season as Christian Ambassadors edged Real Mona 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2010 JNBS masters league last Sunday at Buttercup Park.
Playing before a sizable crowd, both teams traded early attacks amid a smooth passing game, but brilliant goal tending by both custodians kept the score 0-0 at the half.
Christian Ambassadors scored the only goal of the game in the 48th minute when Phillip Riley headed home from close range to give the Ambassadors a 1-0 lead. Real Mona tried in earnest to find the equaliser for the remainder of the second-half, but some stout defending by Christian Ambassadors' backline led by David Laylor, preserved the narrow 1-0 win.
In the Buttercup Park opener, defending league champions Barbican withstood the persistent roars of the Lion Kings to run out convincing 2-0 winners.
