WICB boss wants greater efficiency
ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):
Efficiency will now be the theme of the new administrative thrust in the West Indies Cricket Board's (WICB) corporate office here.
President of the WICB Julian Hunte met with staff of the WICB last Friday to outline to them the new corporate culture that the regional governing body hopes to assume over the next year.
"Coming rather soon, the WICB will consider the report of the study being concluded by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and arising out of that it will allow us to finally put together a comprehensive strategic plan for the WICB," he said.
"With a comprehensive strategic plan in place (the directors), and those coming in future will understand what he or she needs to do to take West Indies cricket to the next level."
He added: "The directors are very serious about the new paradigm that the WICB needs to take in order to move forward.
"One question we are reviewing is how are we going to integrate territorial boards into the WICB structure in a more holistic way, so that we, as a complete WICB entity - board of directors, territorial boards, players, and staff - can all work together in moving West Indies cricket forward."
Stability
Hunte urged staff to strive for higher levels of efficiency, as the WICB tries to bring more stability to West Indies cricket.
"Without you, I don't know how we can run the business of West Indies cricket, and we, at this (directors') level, will ensure you are sufficiently satisfied so as to ensure that you do your jobs properly, but you will each have to deliver," said Hunte.
