Following her impressive fast-time win over 1600 metres on November 6, the progressive Canadian four-year-old filly PRICELESS BEAUTY ought to be followed when she takes on six rivals in today's Caymanas Park feature, the United Racehorse Trainers' Association Trophy race (restricted stakes) for native and imported three-year-olds and up over 1820 metres.

Conditioned by 'Most Improved Trainer' contender Morris Powell for customary owners Houston Stables, the daughter of Kafwain - Pretoria has raced only three times locally and has proved competitive on all three occasions, culminating that runaway victory on November 6, covering the distance in the smart time of 1:37.4.

Prior to that, she finished a mere length away third to the dead-heaters SHE'S SMOKIN and HERROYALHIGHNESS in a fast-run 1300-metre race on October 30.

leaps and bounds

PRICELESS BEAUTY is obviously coming on by leaps and bounds and should have little difficulty in putting away rivals on a line through SHE'S SMOKIN, who went down fighting in a tough overnight allowance race last Saturday.

The filly should win from the three-year-old MERIT'S BRITE LITE, who looked much improved when slamming subsequent winner PAT N GOLD (who reopposes) by nine lengths over the distance on October 16.

Champion jockey Omar Walker has the ride on PRICELESS BEAUTY today and this is another plus in her favour.

I am expecting her to assume the lead from CRUCIAL CAT at the half mile and win with a bit in hand. Elsewhere on the nine-race programme, the 2007 Superstakes winner MAJOR MAJOR should score a long-overdue victory in the 3-y-o and up overnight allowance race over 1600 metres.

Although failing to impact on last Saturday's Superstakes in which he finished eighth to MARK MY WORD, the seven-year-old gelding proved highly competitive on October 18 in overnight company when falling by a length to catch PRIME MINISTER in the Ace Supercentre Trophy over 1820 metres.

major mayer

MAJOR MAYER is still at home over the shorter distance of a mile and despite the strong claims of the Vin Edwards-trained WILD GLITZ, who was not beaten far by PRINCE OF PEACE over 1300 metres last Saturday, this fit gelding from the stables of Michael McIntosh faces his easiest task for some time with only 52.0kg and should make no mistake with bang-in-form Dane Nelson aboard.

I also like POSEIDON, now better for the recent pipeopener, to win the opening race over what is now an deal trip (1820m), CRUISER to stave off OCHUN in the fourth, ROLL THE DICE to rebound at the expense of EARTHWINFANDFIRE and MISS ATLANTIC STAR in the sixth, newcomer THE MESSENGER in the sixth for two-year-olds and DANCING SAM in race number five of the CTL Claiming Series over the straight five course.
