Hi-tech RV for Christmas shows

Telecoms provider Digicel has put the show on the road. The company, which recently launched its 4G Broadband, has unveiled its state-of-the-art, customised RV which will be at all its islandwide Christmas road shows.

Dubbed the Digicel 4G RV, and branded Toyota Tundra, the 35-feet-five inches in length x 12 feet-wide vehicle is outfitted with the latest technology.

"The concept of the RV is to bring to life the many ways Digicel 4G Broadband service can be incorporated in the home environment for educational purposes - for gaming, recreational and security surveillance (on-site or off-site, via remote web access to cameras). All the devices in the RV are connected to the Internet via our 4G Broadband service," said Donovan White, head of marketing at Digicel.

The RV boasts a 40-inch TV; a 5.1 surround-stereo system connected to the TV; an Acer mini- desktop computer connected to the TV in the living/entertainment area.

A PlayStation 3 to stimulate online-gaming capabilities of Digicel 4G Broadband service and to play 4G DVD loop; two netbook computers mounted on the kitchen table; one HP TouchSmart com-puter; a iMac computer; four day/night IP cameras capable of real-time online-video surveillance mounted on the exterior and interior and; a 27-inch monitor mounted in the home office to view the security cameras that are onboard.
