Do you make the best Christmas cake? Do family and friends come back for slice after slice? How about sharing that taste with Food readers? Our expert panel of judges will return with the verdict in our J.Wray & Nephew Red Label Christmas Cake Contest.

How it works

To participate, send us a note no longer than 100 words, telling us about your cake. Include your name and contact numbers. If selected, you will be asked to bring your cake to The Gleaner's North Street office for judging on December 17. ENTRIES CLOSE DECEMBER 10.

Each of the 10 finalists will get:

10 bottles of 1 litre Red Label Wine and a certificate of participation

First Prize:

one gift basket of J. Wray & Nephew products, plus cash of $50,000

Second Prize:

one gift basket of J. Wray & Nephew products, plus $30,000

Third:

one gift basket of J. Wray & Nephew products, plus $20,000

JUDGING

The cakes will be judged on overall taste, best use of local products, presentation (how the cake is displayed), decoration on the cake, texture of cake and the 'want-more' factor.
