Teens arrested for 9-y-o's shooting death

GRETNA, Louisiana (AP):

In two separate shootings, Jefferson Parish authorities say a nine-year-old boy is dead, a 12-year-old girl is in critical condition and two teenagers have been arrested in the younger child's slaying, while a teenager and a young girl face charges in the girl's case.

Sheriff Newell Normand identified the shooting victim as George Elmore of Marrero, while the sheriff's office identified the critically injured girl as Karin Brown of River Ridge. The three teenagers and the young girl arrested in the shootings are being held at the Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center.
