Go bold & beautiful for Christmas

It's another season and all the more reason to shine the light on jewellery that's bold and beautiful.

Chandelier earrings have recovered their allure and are dropping in with wood, pearl, precious metals and stones. But before the beauty of these earrings entrance you, lend an ear to these Saturday Life tips that will light up your face, your look and your life.

All earrings are courtesy of Trends in the Sovereign Centre.

Try new things and never forget the old. Rustic metals such as brass and copper have always been incorporated into jewellery, starting with the Egyptians. Now, Bohemian trends have left these metals unpolished to give it a something-old-but-something-new charm. This turquoise and brass charm chandelier can never get old.

There is a time and a place for everything: and the saying goes for chandelier earrings. Many females tend to stick to chandelier earrings for formal occasions or for outings at night.

However, new designs, such as this pearl dangler, can add to your office attire or pep up your T-shirt and jeans in the same way your knob earrings normally do. If your workplace has restrictions on the types of earrings you wear, there's a five per cent chance the boss will overlook giving you the red flag for wearing these.

Size does matter. Chandelier earrings look great on any face shape, but even better when matched properly. Large chandelier earrings may be overbearing for wide or round faces. If your face is round, choose styles like this red rhinestone, oblong chandelier earring that is narrow at the top, wide in-between and tapers at the end. This will give your face a slender appearance without taking away from your look.
