Former national Under-20 representative André Clennon says he hopes his goalscoring form will continue after guiding Waterhouse to a 1-0 win over Harbour View in their top-of-the-table clash at Drewsland on Sunday.

Clennon, who is a former Bridge-port High standout, delivered the telling blow in the 63rd minute when he used his height and strength to good effect to out-muscle two defenders from close to the half-line before calmly slotting home.

It was Waterhouse's first victory in their last four outings, and gave them a glimmer of hope of making it to the second end-of-round final, after losing the first to Tivoli Gardens.

"It felt good to score what is my second goal of the season," explained Clennon, who has in the past been invited to the national senior team set-up.

"I have not being scoring much, as I have been focusing mainly on playing a supporting role in the team.

"But I am glad to have scored the winner, and hope that I will be able to do more of the same in the future."

The win kept Waterhouse, who appear to be settling down now after the recent return of head coach Baris Johnson, second in the overall standings on 31 points, two behind leaders Tivoli Gardens.

For Harbour View, on the other hand, who prior to Sunday were going well after a disappointing first round, the loss leaves them fifth in the standings on 24 points.

"It was a close game; however, due to outside forces we lost our way," said Harbour View coach Donovan Hayles, who was ejected from the game in the 56th minute for verbally abusing fourth official, Cordella Samuels.

"We will just have to regroup and come again as it is our intention to make it to the end-of-round final.

Harbour View's Kemar Lawrence was ejected from the game in injury time, for violent conduct, by referee Courtney Campbell.
