Supreme Ventures Limited in association with the Cricket Club's Activity Committee (CCAC) yesterday announced its sponsorship of $150,000 towards the Ultimate Cricket Bash and Fun Day slated for December 11, 2010 at the Ultimate Jerk Centre, Discovery Bay, St Ann.

SVL's contribution will assist the CCAC in supporting local clubs to be more sustainable, as they vie to compete at the highest level.

The CCAC is a newly formed 16-member voluntary committee consisting of both popular players and administrators. It was established to raise funds for local clubs and cricket associations to ensure the revival, sustainability and improvement of club cricket in Jamaica. As such, the fun day will be used to raise funds and all proceeds will be presented to various cricket clubs and associations in need of support.

In commenting on SVL's contribution to the CCAC, Wavell Hinds, chairman of the CCAC, said that "Supreme Ventures has been great to us from our inception and we are grateful for their contribution, not only to this event but to the committee. We hope to forge a fruitful relationship going forward.

"At the launch, Supreme Ventures' Senior Corporate Communications Officer, Carlene Edwards, said: "we are pleased to partner with the CCAC through our new and exciting sports betting brand, justbet. Our corporate involvement in local sport goes way beyond cricket, and is evidenced by our contribution to various sporting disciplines over the past nine years."

Edwards also said: "As a company, we still believe that sport plays a significant role in bringing us, as a people, together and, for this, we are extremely proud to play our part in the sustainability of local Cricke through the CCAC."

The activities for the fun day are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and will include fun and competitive 20/20 cricket matches, featuring the CCAC Masters against Ultimate Masters and a St Ann Invitational 11 vs CCAC Invitational 11, respectively.
