CUBA - Four-day visit ends for South African president
HAVANA, Cuba (CMC):
Cuban President Raul Castro has said farewell to his South African counterpart, Jacob Zuma, who ended a four-day visit to Cuba during which he also met the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro.
Shortly before boarding the plane at Havana's José Marti airport on Wednesday, Raul Castro and Zuma hugged each other, according to images broadcast on the evening news.
After highlighting meetings with Fidel Castro, Raul Castro and other Cuban leaders, Zuma said the visit was gratifying for him and his delegation.
Zuma also said he admired the depth of internationalist sentiment and patriotism and described this combination as amazing.
"Many people should learn from this behaviour, this is something that distinguishes Cuba from the rest of the world," said Zuma, who was accompanied this time by a delegation of businessmen from his country.
