Joan Wright formerly Whilby is a homegrown writer whose work has gained attention not only locally but is gaining momentum from international pastors.

Wright, author of From Brokenness to Victory, a book detailing a powerful story of overcoming low self-esteem, self-hate, abuse, teenage pregnancy and forgiveness will be taking her international church promotion tour which started Christmas 2009 to other states.

Last year,Wright made several stops in the New York area where she addressed women's gathering at the Family Christian Fellowship in Mount Vernon and New Testament Temple in the Bronx. So powerful was her message that she was given an open invitation to address the women's ministry on their next women's gathering.

This Christmas, Wright will be declaring her 'glad tidings' to women and men in Florida and Georgia.

"I was elated when a major tele-evangelist expressed reading and appreciating my story. I have heard enough testimonies to assure me that my purpose is being fulfilled but the Harvest is plenty, its Kingdom building time, and, we all have been called to set the captives free," said the first-time writer, who, amidst her hectic schedule as a student, single mother, artiste manager, mentor, booking agent for TV personality Kiki, and gospel artistes Judith Gayle and Sapphire declared that she was ready to embark on her second book.
