Facts or conjecture?

Truth is found by comparison of what is said with known facts and by accessing the possible motivations of those speaking.

Did WikiLeaks write this cable or did an actual US diplomat?

Did that diplomat invent those Cuban concerns or did he report what he found?

Did the Jamaica Constabulary Force ignore calls for help from the Cuban police delivered through official channels for several years or did Minister Nelson invent these letters?

Simply put, the most likely scenario which matches the available facts is that the JCF hardly did anything about international drug shipments despite requests from Cuba, until those requests made their way up to the political level and pressure was brought on the leadership of the JCF to shape up or ship out. The leadership did both, i.e. it shaped up and the top guy shipped out.

Now that this is coming to light, the ex-commissioner is trying to cover his own rear by claiming the complaints never came and no action was taken despite evidence of both.

Is Lewin being political?

The timing of Lewin's utterances strike me that he is being political. The gains shown under this new commish has greatly outstripped Lewin's. Why is it that he has to weigh in on every issue related to the Government and national security? He never weighs in to agree but to rebut. The ones that believe blindly will certainly be led astray.

Former commish far more credible

I believe Hardley Lewin is far more credible than Dwight Nelson because after Lewin charged that Dudus was tipped off, neither Nelson nor the prime minister saw it fit to do an investigation into such an important charge. Failure by the security minister and the prime minister to act let the charge appear true.
