Football showcase at Mona

The annual staging of the New Year's Day Football Extravaganza which features the Masters, Celebrities and Entertainers opposing a Real Mona Invitational team will be held today at Buttercup Park, Mona, starting at 4 p.m.
The event has been staged for over 30 years and according to Clive 'Busy' Campbell, one of the organisers of the event, he expects a full day of excitement and fun.
"We are looking forward to a full day of fun and enjoyment because a lot of entertainers will be on show, along with members of the Real Mona Football Club," said Campbell.
"Over the years. people always look forward to this event and so we're hoping that we will have a lot of spectators at this year's event," he added.
Campbell also disclosed that there will be a lot of prizes and surprises for the fans.
The Masters and Celebrities team will include the likes of, Tony Curtis, Lenny 'Teacher' Hyde, Lukie D, Ian Wilkinson, Rudolph Speid, Marvin Chin, Audley Boyd, Livingston Morrison, Robert Bailey, Dean Shepherd, Leeroy Grey and Adrian Pitter.
The Real Mona Invitational side will include Robert Bartolomew, Chris Williams, Glen Hines, Andre Denny, Neo Oxford, Kasey Bourne, Roger Bishop, Ian Bond, Hylton Corban, Peter Lee, Michael Lewis and Peter Prendergast.
