Party starts 2011 by living up to expectations

'Exclusive' has more than one meaning. Perspective is important here. The word may speak to restrictions to the public by law, or it may mean restrictive because it is of high quality and therefore expensive, or it may come down to just being known by very few.

At Chateau X.Clusive, held at 3 Cherry Gardens Drive on New Year's Eve, Smirnoff X.Clusive-luminaries may not have met the criteria for all the above but were served to patrons on a silver platter, an exclusive party experience that will live on in their minds for years to come.

At the entrance, patrons were greeted with a beautiful venue decorated in red and white.

Apart from the female eye candies, the colourful display of fireworks which erupted over the venue at midnight was the night's main attraction.

"Five, four, three, two, one, Happy New Year!" shouted excited patrons in a countdown led by the disc jockey.

To satisfy their appetite, a variety of delicious foods were available, and beverages were also very much in abundance at the many bars.

Fashion was another highlight, as most patrons attempted to be well dressed to ring in the new year in style and stuck, for the most part, to a formal dress code.

The ladies stood out like diamonds in a pile of rubies, sporting body-hugging dresses. Men tried their best to have their swagger in tip-top shape as they dressed in dapper suits, but mind you, they were no match for the females.

Full energy

The venue was full of energy throughout the night, mostly because the deejays played good sets and had patrons in the mood to have fun, and not simply because it was New Year's Eve. Patrons played their part as they showed they wanted to start the year on the right note. They wanted to have a blast with friends and family.

They did, as nothing could stop them from singing along to hip hop songs such as Baby, Grenade, 2012, Boom Boom Pow, OMG, All The Above, Every Girl In The World, Power and Deuces. All had patrons dancing.

There was no surprise as the name had said it all, an exclusive vibe, exclusive fun and an overall exclusive way of partying on New Year's Eve right into New Year's Day.
