Craig Foster scored to net Reno a 1-0 win over Tivoli Gardens in the Digicel Premier League football encounter at Frome Sports Ground yesterday.

Reno dominated the first half as they created most of the chances and got just reward in the 40th minute when Foster cracked home from close range, following a melee at the goal mouth.

The home team held on to the lead until the final whistle, despite some stout attacks from the visitors in the second half.

"We missed a few chances early in the game and that cost us the game," the assistant coach for Tivoli, Alvin Shaw, told reporters after the game, while expressing disappointment with the result.

Shaw also congratulated Reno.

In the meantime, Michael Graham, assistant coach for Reno, was completely satisfied with the result, given the circumstances he was playing under.

"It is a young, Under-21 team that we used because six of our regular players are out on injury and the youngsters gave us a good showing," he said.

Finishing ISSUE

Graham also said his team has been playing well, but has been affected by its finishing.

"That is the main problem in the team at this time," he stated. "We are not scoring enough."

Most of the teams will be on break to facilitate the second end-of-round final, but the coaches are planning on using the time to tighten up and put on a better show for the third and final round of the competition.

"We are struggling a bit," said Shaw. "But we will be putting in the work and considering the quality players we have, we will get it together."

Graham said: "We will use the break to get ourselves fully prepared for the next round. Our intention is to at least finish in the top six and we will be working hard to achieve that."

Reno played without their technical director, Wendell Downswell, who is engaged with national coaching duties in Brazil.
