Junior Reid, who has experienced a career resurgence in the last five years, is scheduled to begin a 17-show tour of the United States in March, according to tour tracker Poll Star.

The tour opens on March 1 with the first of two dates at the Theatre of The Living Arts in Philadelphia. Reid is also scheduled to perform in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, where the tour closes on March 20 at The Masquerade.

Reid will be using the jaunt to promote his new album, The Living Legend, which features big hip-hop acts like Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg. His work from the 1990s has been embraced by the hip-hop community in recent years.

Rappers Game and M.I.M.S. worked with Reid on It's Okay (One Blood) and This Is Why I'm Hot, respectively. Both were major hits in 2006 and earned Reid a slot on the 2007 American Music Awards performing with Alicia Keys.

The Waterhouse-born Reid entered the music business during the late 1970s as a protégé of singer Hugh Mundell. He had several hits in the 1980s including Foreign Mind and One Blood before joining Black Uhuru as lead singer.
