  • Tai Tenn Quee dies

Former Dover motorcyclist Lucien Tai Tenn Quee died peacefully on September 27.

Tai Tenn Quee represented Jamaica in regional championships and was the former head of the University of the West Indies campus' security.

A thanksgiving service was held for him at the St Margaret's Church in St Andrew.

  • Loss Adjusters group turns 20

The Loss Adjusters Association of Jamaica (LAAJ) celebrated its 20th anniversary last year.

The group functions as a governing body through which other organisations in the loss-adjusting and insurance-investigation business collectively set policies and standards for the industry. It also mediates issues involving insurance companies, members of the public and itself.

The association's president, David McKay, who was elected in April, said emphasis would be focused on bringing about greater efficiency and improved customer service.

The group also lost one of its major players with the passing of David Young. Young, vice-president of property-insurance loss adjusting, died on November 17.
