Monroe slams hat-trick as August Town thrash Santos

LED by a Ricardo Monroe hat-trick, August Town thrashed Santos 6-1 at Bell-Chung Oval as they kept up the pressure on leaders Cavalier, following last Saturday's round of matches in the Claro Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League football competition.
Monroe netted his goals in the 33rd, 42nd and 88th minutes for August Town, who were demoted from top-flight football last season. Shanon Pinnock (45th), Dwayne Plummer (71st) and Andre Hickling (80th) scored the other goals for August Town.
Terrence Allen scored the consolation goal for the Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis-coached Santos (20 points) in the 68th minute.
August Town (29) remain two points behind Cavalier (31), who whipped Constant Spring 4-1 at the Constant Spring Sports Complex. Jermaine Gray (35th, 72nd, 81st) led the way for the David Laylor-coached Cavalier with a hat-trick. Loxley Thompson scored the other goal for Cavalier in the 75th. Anthony Burke scored the consolation goal for Constant Spring (nine) in the 50th minute.
Third place
The University of the West Indies (UWI) moved up to third place in the standings with 24 points, after recording a hard-fought 1-0 victory over bottom-placed Real Mona at UWI Bowl. Anthony Grant scored the lone goal for the Neville 'Bertis' Bell-coached UWI in the 66th minute.
Mountain View United (14), led by goals from Troyland Williams (32nd) and Ricardo Reid (40th), edged hosts Bull Bay (9) 1-0 at Bull Pen.
Rockfort (21) and Duhaney Park (10) played to 1-1 draw. Former national striker Onandi Lowe gave Rockfort the lead in the 63rd minute, but Anthony Britton equalised in the 84th. In the other match, Rae Town (21) were held to a scoreless draw by Barbican (14) at Breezy Castle.
