Favourites, the unbeaten Seba United, extended their lead to three points in the 2010-11 Captain's Bakery Western Super League on Wednesday afternoon when they scored a big 5-0 win against Cousins Cove in their 10th-round fixture at the Green Island High School ground in Hanover.

Second-place Wadadah FC, who entered Wednesday's round of games a mere one point behind the Danilo Barigga-coached Seba United, suffered a setback as they could only manage a 0-0 draw against St James rival Catherine Hall FC in their game at the UDC playing field, in Montego Bay.

In their game, Seba United, who have improved their season record to an impressive eight wins and two draws in their 10 games, got their goal from prolific striker Jeremy Bucknor (two), midfielder Iton Scott (two) and Kemar Kames.

"It was another good performance by the team and we are naturally pleased with the result," said coach Barigga, who is confident that his Seba United team will emerge winners of the competition. "Our aim is to stay unbeaten and once we do that, we should be okay."

Slick passing and stinging attacks

In a game in which their opponents failed to keep pace with their slick passing and stinging attacks, Seba United opened their account in the 14th minute when Scott fired home from close range. Scott was again on target in the 26th minute when he caught the Cousins Cove defence and made it 2-0 for his team.

The speedy Bucknor lifted Seba United's first-half goal tally to 4-0 when he scored twice in two minutes. First, he struck in the 37th minute after a sizzling dribble and then showed that his initial strike was no fluke with a similar effort in the 39th minute.

Seba United ended their goal-spree in the 63rd minute when James joined Scott and Bucknor on the score sheet with a well-taken goal, which increased his team's goal tally for the season to 27 against the mere two goals they have conceded.

Third-place Frome FC suffered an embarrassing setback in their Westmoreland derby against Russia, going down by a 4-1 margin. Gregory James (two), Donald Hewitt and Kingsley James got the goals for Russia. Frome got their consolation goal from Ryan McIntrye.

In other games, Tomorrow's People, behind goals from Marcel White and Jermaine Francis, clipped Bamboo FC 2-1 while Exidos surprised Montpelier 1-0 behind a second-half strike by Sheldon McPherson.
