Re: Trinidad's intention to enforce the death penalty
Jamaica should take a lesson from trinidad
Congratulations to Mrs Persad-Bissessar, PM of Trinidad and Tobago. It is good to see that at least one leader in the region has the courage and intelligence to put the nation's interests ahead of their own personal gains.
Maybe someday in the near future, the people of Jamaica will begin to take some positive lessons from Trinidad.
I understand that it is hard for Jamaica to pass laws to bring about positive changes when some of the people who should be passing the laws may be beneficiaries of organised crime syndicates running Jamaica.

Re: the Dudus/Manatt enquiry
Manatt enquiry a joke
Take this $40 million and pay the teachers and security forces the money the Government owes them. This enquiry is a big joke.
Do you really think they are going to find anything wrong with the way in which Bruce handled the extradition? Bruce Golding should be facing the High Court.

Keep track on TV
The interested public should watch the Jamaica News Network and the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica to get a first-hand account of the happenings.
It will be very important to hear the testimonies and observe the body language of all the participants - commissioners, witnesses, attorneys and observers.

Re: The Gavel's rebuttal of criticism about ECJ commissioners' multimillion-dollar pay
Shaw must take action
Can the ECJ commissioners honestly look into the mirror and feel justified for such a salary for part-time work? Whatever Miller lectures in at the institution, I wish some of the students could debate against him on this issue on national television.
Disgraceful, shameful, but I believe they have reached the point of no return. Mr Shaw, we need your unafraid assistance to cauterise this Jamaican political cancer.

Re: Jamaican netballers' victory over Australia on Sunday
'Little but tallawah'
Congratulations, Sunshine Girls. This is just to show that little Jamaica is full of talented people. We are rated high in athletics, football and netball. We just need to improve our self-esteem and remember that we are one of the best.
