Reno were impressive 2-0 winners over Humble Lion at the Frome Sports Complex as the Digicel Premier League competition continued on Wednesday.

Ace striker Craig Foster was on target for Reno in the eighth minute, scoring from close range. Evan Taylor completed the scoring in injury time. An indirect free kick by Linval Wilson Jr found Taylor, whose rocket-like shot deflected off the far upright before lodging inside the net.

Assistant coach for Reno, Michael Graham, was happy with the win. "This is what we are about. Three points at home and then a point here and there in our away games will be enough," Graham said.

Lenworth Hyde, coach of Humble Lion, expressed unhappiness with his team's recent form. "We have lost three games in a row and I don't know what is wrong with the team," he lamented. "They perform well in training but something is wrong when it comes to the match. We have brought in a few players and they are doing well but I don't know what is happening and I need to find out because we can't go on losing like this."

Woodbine injured

Reno played only 30 minutes with captain O'Brian Woodbine, who was rushed to hospital after suffering a leg injury in a tackle.

Meanwhile, Portmore United jumped into second spot on 44 points after edging Benfica 1-0 at Drax Hall, courtesy of a Rosario Harriott strike in the 15th minute.

Benfica, who started the season very well, were suffering their 14th defeat from 25 games and remained in the relegation zone in 11th spot on 25 points.

Champions Harbour View moved into fourth spot on 41 points with a 1-0 win over Arnett Gardens at the Compound.

Former Arnett Gardens player Marcelino Blackburn netted the winner from the penalty spot in the 19th minute.

Arnett, who were losing their first game of the season to the champions, and their eighth overall, slipped a spot to eighth, on 31 points.
