Even before the Youth View Awards, nominees were enjoying themselves.

Two days before they would hear which artistes were young, hot and hype, (See tomorrow's Gleaner for the results of the awards), the nominees were partying the night away in a spectacular event at the Fiction Lounge, St Andrew.

At 10 p.m., when the party should have started, the empty club gave no indication as to the spectacle, which would later rock it to its very foundation.

Ce'Cile, Raine Seville, Tifa, Ding Dong and the Ravers Clavers, DJ Bambino, Lady Rennae, Mystic and Shady Squad were just some of the popular personalities in attendance.

Although the VIP area inside the club was reserved for the specially invited guests of the YVAs, other invitees were still allowed to enter and rub shoulders with the stars.

According to Carlo Redwood, head of marketing at Pepsi, Jamaica, "tonight the nominees are getting the royal treatment at the VIP boothe inside the club and being extended every courtesy possible."

The nominees, as well as other guests were entertained by a number of disc jockeys, who were invited to provide the musical atmosphere.

DJ Cyrus was the talk of the night as he kept the club pumping with hot, musical hits across all genres from both the new and old school.

International guest of the YVAs and host of BET's 106 and Park was not present at the pre-party because she had not yet arrived on the island.

To the surprise of many, Vybz Kartel made an appearance and made his presence felt.

Even at 2 a.m., the excitement was still at its peak as DJ Cyrus continued to keep the dance floor alive.
