Local race driver Doug 'Hollywood' Gore has shifted gears and joined forces with ATL Automotive Ltd. The move will see the veteran driver trading his Mitsubishi for a high-velocity DTM spec Audi TT.

"Audi has always been a dominant force in the history and progression of racing. When the Audi Quattro was launched, it was virtually unbeatable and is one of the top cars in the chronicles of motorsports," said Gore.

Gore, a front-line circuit race driver at Dover Raceway in St Ann, said: "The Audi all-wheel drive system is absolutely exceptional. Try as I might, I could not spin the Q5 SUV and, honestly, if Audi can bring that level of traction and control to a 'regular' vehicle, imagine Audi motorsports."

Adam Stewart, deputy chairman and chief executive officer for ATL Automotive Ltd, was elated that Gore and his team would be representing ATL Automotive and Audi on the local and Caribbean racing circuit.

"With ATL Automotive being the leading motoring company in the country and Doug Gore the country's leading driver, this is a marriage made in heaven," Stewart said.

The racer's crew - Team MoBay - will be rebranded The ATL Automotive Racing Team.

Gore will showcase his new ride for the 2011 local circuit this Easter.
