Digicel to stream Bacchanal opening night - Yendi named face of campaign
Digicel has announced that it will be streaming Bacchanal's opening night live to its Digicel Jamaica Facebook page as well as to Jamaicansmusic.com.
According to Shelly-Ann Curran, senior sponsorship manager at Digicel, "Jamaicans love Bacchanal and we want to ensure that as many people as possible get to enjoy the spirit and the vibe of the season. Being one of the largest corporate Facebook communities in Jamaica gives us the perfect opportunity to ensure that more people get to experience Bacchanal and start planning to be at Mas Camp the next week."
The telecoms company will also be giving away tickets to its fans on its Facebook page and to its followers on Twitter.
According to a release from Digicel, the company is in high gear for Bacchanal 2011 and streaming live to Facebook is only a part of many activities.
The company has, therefore, also announced that Yendi Phillipps, first runner-up in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant, will be the face behind its Ming Dynasty campaign for Bacchanal 2011.
In an interview with the 'bacchanal babe', she confessed that, "I love carnival. I love soca music, the energy of the road march and vibe of the whole experience. As long as I'm in Jamaica at Bacchanal time, you'll find me jumping in the road march, and this year will be no different, except that I'll be jumping with the Bigger, Better Network."
Other amazing treats for customers include Double Bubble at Mas Camp each Friday, the Digicel Vault which gives customers a chance to grab for the 'golden ticket' to win some exciting prizes and handset value offers throughout the season with partners ZTE and PCD.
