Repairs for 'St Bess' roads

A number of parochial roads in St Elizabeth are being rehabilitated by the National Works Agency (NWA) to the tune of $196 million.

The project is being executed as part of the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme (JDIP).

NWA central region community relations officer, Howard Hendricks, said the parochial roads include the Cataboo to Punchies, Smoothland to Mount Plymouth and Belleview to Queensberry roads.

The Seaview to Queensbury, Craigie to Baileys Ground, Carisbrook to Dry Harbour, Arlington to Ghetto, Crane Road to Parrottee, Barbary Hall to Cherry Gardens and Newell to Honslow roads are also to be repaired.

The rehabilition work includes the construction of drains, removal and replacement of the old surface and the construction of retaining walls.
