Princess Tia inspires
Princess Tia, 2009 Rising Stars second runner-up and youth ambassador of Music Unites! was invited by the International Proxy Parents Community Outreach Group to visit the Glenhope Place of Safety in order to give hope and inspiration to teenage girls who have been traumatised by a difficult past.
Together with Samuele Vivian, a very talented guitarist from Italy, who currently lectures at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Tia sang a selection of very touching songs, including her original Who's Responsible, which will be released later this spring.
Uplifting interaction
Tia interacted very well with the girls, inspiring them to believe in the possibility of a better future.
Everyone enjoyed her visit as they all got the chance to talk to her, to get her autograph, and to take pictures.
It is commendable that Princess Tia took the time between her engagements and busy schedule of studying towards a Bachelor of Music at Edna Manley, to remember those young women who need uplifting interaction.
She takes her role as youth ambassador of the non-governmental organisation Music Unites! very seriously and supports all events such as the recently staged 'Free Family Peace Concert' at the Waterfront in Kingston.
Music Unites! is in the process of establishing the first archive on Jamaican composers and has in previous years assisted needy, but talented students accessing scholarships.
