Earth, wind, water and fire will be infused in a series of grand celebrations this carnival season when Island Mas Jamaica returns for its fifth anniversary.
Through the use of the theme 'The Elements', the organisers hope to celebrate what they describe as 'the very foundations of creation and life', earth, wind, fire, water and soca.
Speaking at the media launch on Tuesday held at Cuddyz Sports Bar, New Kingston, Andrew Bellamy, managing director of Island Mas Jamaica 2011 told The Gleaner what patrons can expect from the events saying, "Patrons can definitely expect a lot of energy, a lot of fun. We're known for the crazy vibe that is experienced at the water party and we want to bring that fire, that intense experience to all of the events that we will be doing within our series."
Good work
He also said, "Based on the partnering sponsor Appleton Jamaica, and with Wisynco aboard, we can only better what we did last year. And we plan on doing that in ways like by offering better deals for the patrons and by having the best selectors in town turning up at each event, so it won't be worse, it will definitely be better in 2011 with The Elements."
Representatives from Appleton Jamaica and Wisynco spoke of their relationship with Island Mas Jamaica and commended them on the good work that they have been doing and pledged their support of the upcoming activities.
Island Mas Jamaica's 2011 presentation of 'The Elements' will see six weeks of high-energy events starting on March 12 at Cuddyz Sports Bar, New Kingston, with Island Mas Saturdays which will run until April 9.
The Island Mas Jamaica group will also celebrate carnival on the UWI Ring Road on March 19, treat the ladies with Hardwine - 'Girl Fever' on April 16, host their J'Ouvert party on April 29, and climax with the exciting, highly-anticipated WATER Party set for April 30.
Patrons will be provided with the latest soca music from the resident deejay, DJ Billy, with other disc jockeys Richie Ras, DJ Narity, Sanjay from Coppershot, DJ Firestarter and Kurt Riley all expected to provide musical delight.
