World best for Sinclair

 Jamaica's national 800 metres champion Kenia Sinclair clocked a world-leading 1:59.63 to win the women's two-lap event at the Melbourne Track Classic, an outdoor meet, in Australia yesterday.

Sinclair, who finished sixth in the final at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, beat Australia's pair of Tamsyn Lewis, second in 2:01.50, and Katherine Katsanevakis, third in 2:02.60.

Another Australian, Sally Pearson, better known as a sprint hurdler, bagged the sprint double, winning the 100 metres in 11.52 seconds and the 200m in 23.36.

The men's 800 metres was won by 2006 World Junior champion, Kenya's David Rudisha, in a fairly good 1:43.88, also a world-leading time. He finished ahead of American Nick Symmonds, 1:45.09, and Australian Lachlan Renshaw, 1:45.66.
