Wild Tradition to rebound in Race 7

The Pick-9 starts anew after it was collared by two punters at Caymanas Park on Wednes-day, each receiving $589,000.

Tomorrow's well supported 11-race programme which commences at 12:15 p.m. will, as usual, facilitate two Super-6s, while the Pick-9 will embrace races three to 11.

We look at the second Super-6 which commences in the sixth race, a condition race for maiden three-year-olds over 1600 metres to be contested by 14 starters, including the lightly raced KING T (Omar Walker up), who showed promise on his debut on February 23 when a fast-finishing fourth to DIE HARD after missing the break.

KING T, now better for the run, could well start favourite. My vote, however, goes to the experienced ORDEROFDISTINCTION with leading jockey Shane Ellis riding for owner/trainer Lee Clarke. CHAMPION LINKS is also expected to run well for the trifecta.

Winning ways

Briefly, WILD TRADITION, who was unbeaten in her first three races before losing for the first time to SAEED recently, should resume winnings ways in the seventh over 1100 metres, while it should be the down-in-class STEEL DE CAT, a disqualified winner in better company on Boxing Day, to land the eighth, again over 1100 metres. MARHABBA, SALUTE TO MOM, MING LEI and recent winner PEDRO BLUFF should ensure STEEL DE CAT is extended in the 12-horse field.

Walker's mount LIFE GOES ON, a fast-finishing second to SENSE OF PURPOSE last Saturday, looks the right choice in the ninth for maiden three-year-olds, while 'going places' DOUBLE THE HONEY (working exceptionally well following his recent win) can't be opposed in the 10th over the straight for open allowance horses. Then close the programme with down-in-class GHOST RAPPER, who takes on 14 opponents over 1200 metres, including main rivals ROLL THE DICE and GOVNOR.

Today's racing takes place at Doncaster, Newbury, Lingfield and Wolverhampton, the latter course as usual staging an evening meet starting at 12:20 p.m. local time.

At Newbury, the race that holds our interest is the 11th - the Berry Brothers and Rudd National Hunt Novices Hurdle over two miles and five furlongs, to be contested by 13 starters, including the 7-2 ante-post favourite OUR FATHER.

With stable jockey Timmy Murphy riding for top-line trainer David Pipe, OUR FATHER is a worthy favourite in this large field, following his good second to LISTENLOOK at Chepstow last time put.

OUR FATHER, who had won his previous race, is highly thought of at home and despite the strong support for the Paul Nicholls-trained FORLOVE-NORMONEY (4-1).
