Bravo to undergo surgery in Australia

Dwayne Bravo leaves today for Australia, where he will undergo surgery to repair his damaged right knee, which put him out of the World Cup taking place in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The West Indies all-rounder also said he would remain in Australia for a month after, to continue his recovery from the injury.
"Heading off to Australia for my knee surgery on Sunday," Bravo tweeted on Friday. "Will miss the (West Indies) guys, but I know they will do well (in the World Cup)."
Bravo sustained the injury while delivering the first ball of his third over against South Africa in the West Indies' opening match of the World Cup.
Helped off the field
He had to be helped off the field by West Indies captain Darren Sammy and team physio C.J. Clark.
In a media release on Friday, the 27-year-old all-rounder noted the extent of his injury: "I got a meniscus tear and a strained anterior cruciate ligament ... (so) surgery is required."
Before Bravo flew home from the World Cup, he spoke to the team and told them of the importance of giving of their best and making up for the absence of injured players.
In a tribute to his injured teammate, opener Chris Gayle said he would wear his jersey number for the remainder of the competition.
