Lowly St Georges of Portland surprised Reno FC with a 2-1 victory in their Digicel Premier League match at the Frome Sports Club in Westmoreland yesterday.

St Georges' Damion Harwood shocked the home team when he gave the visitors the lead ten minutes inside the second half. Shane Anderson of Reno found the equaliser following a goal mouth melee but in the 76th minute Donovan Davis slammed home a rebound to stun the Reno crowd.

Geoffery Maxwell, the St Georges coach, was happy with the result. He said his players played to instructions and made use of the two chances that they got.

"The three points are important because we have to position ourselves very well to start the fourth round," Maxwell said.

"We play Waterhouse away next and we want the players to show the kind of confidence I know they have and take the three points," Maxwell said. His final game for this round will be a home encounter against Village United.

Wendell Downswell of Reno was very disappointed. "We wanted to remain in the top six but now it will be difficult since we now have to wait on the result of the other teams," he said.

"Our next two games are away," said Downswell. "We got two games at home and did not consolidate as it relates to our standing so it will be a tough battle for us on the road."
