Sammy: Our batters can dominate Swann

CHENNAI, India:

West Indies captain Darren Sammy says his team has the batsmen to dominate England spinner Graeme Swann in today's crucial World Cup Group B match at the spin-friendly MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Swann is expected to recover from a stomach upset to form a key part of England's bowling attack in Chennai, where the English need to win to avoid an early elimination.

Sammy told reporters yesterday that West Indies would play the offspinner "according to the situation'', but had the batters "capable of dominating him".

Sammy said opening batsman Chris Gayle was fit to play against England after missing the last game against Ireland with an abdominal strain, adding that he expected big-hitting all-rounder Kieron Pollard to continue his good form.
