Emotional Episode five for Pulse's reality series
Pulse's newest TV title, CMS (Caribbean Model Search) Petite, has already gone through four gruelling challenges, with constant chatter among the contestants about which of their counterparts should be given marching orders by the judges.
Front runners are emerging, while others are battling to continue their quest for the historic title.
When the show airs tomorrow, it will be on the back of an emotional experience last week.
After the surprise introduction of five new girls to the competition, several of the more outspoken contestants realised nobody had a safe spot.
With an open declaration and a clear warning to the new girls, Deidre McKenzie emphatically indicated that she would add more fire to her already competitive sprit while Kemesha Edwards acknowledged that "the competition has now just begun." The old and new were immediately thrown together to complete the Pairs in Air for Fashion challenge which took on bruising proportions and was not without some tension.
Although the girls were paired, they were judged on their individual performance in a photo shoot.
Judges Kingsley Cooper, Chester Francis Jackson and Romae Gordon gave Zemel Bennett and Sydia Valentine the top honours as a pair, but the latter took the most important title as the ultimate winner of the challenge.
After much verbal volleys about who should not continue in the competition, performance report cards are in this week and yield some interesting findings, especially for the contestants considered the biggest contenders for the title.
Remaining contestants
The girls who are still in the contention for the title are: Nicola Baker, Superior Parts; Zemel Bennett, Everett Fenton Garage; Ruthann Brooks, Green Daze; Kerone Clarke, Dark Sky Productions; Kemesha Edwards, Purple Princess Boutique; Ashleigh Hire Miller, Supreme Ventures Sports Betting; Deidre Mckenzie, Klesing Industrial Supplies; Sadida Mills, J Wray and Nephew White Rum; Anastassia Mitchell, Soft Sheen Carson; Decoda Phillips, Brit Jam; Shamique Simms, Five Star Water Sports; Kimberlee Solomon, Caymanas Track Limited; Bridgitte Stuart, St Mary's Banana Chips, Sydia Valentine, Azan Super Centre; and Jodian Yap, Coke Zero.
The series has taken a dramatic turn as the contestants bare their souls in a revealing session with model-actress Nicole 'Sky' Grey (Better Mus Come and Restless City) in preparation for their fifth challenge, The Screen Test.
Show of emotion
In an unusual show of emotion, a couple of the girls shared the grief they had experienced with the untimely loss of family members and in one case, the murder of a sibling.
The reality show has had a number of celebrity guests such as Pulse's most successful petite modelling star Sanya Hughes, who is making the transition to the big screen with a recent movie credit for Pirates of the Caribbean.
