Dr Sandrica Petrona Young, daughter of Mr and Mrs Errol and Rosetta Young, and Gregory Roy Peart, son of Neville Peart and Mr and Mrs Stanley and Jackulyn Davis, were united in holy matrimony on March 6 at the historic University Chapel, Mona, St Andrew. Pastor Wellesley Brown was the officiating minister and Dr Carol Ball was the organist.

The bride was radiant in a gown she sourced online in just 15 minutes at vponsale.com after her husband-to-be took her measurement with a carpenter's tape from his toolkit.

The groom looked the picture of sartorial elegance in a tuxedo by Dexter Huxtable of Spokes Apparel.

Wedding coordinator Melanie Miller executed the events of the memorable occasion while the bouquets and floral arrangements comprised tulips and lilies. The wedding cake was the handiwork of both mothers of the couple and the finished product was beautifully decorated by Noveline Lawrence. The newly-weds honeymooned at Iberostar.

How they met

As the bride tells it: "We were introduced to each other at the end of a party bymy studying partner/friend Dr Dwayne Wright. Dwayne was Gregory's Chancellor Hall brother and usual wingman. However, Gregory and I never met until that night. Dwayne had taken me to the party but 'claimed' that his car was too low todescend the hill with all of us in it, so Gregory would be dropping me home.

"After Gregory dropped me home at Taylor Hall, he later declared interest. I did my background checks with other friends (Elon, Lloyd and Jepthroy), then Gregory and I started dating.

"The proposal was doneduring a surprise picnic inHolywell in the St Andrew hills with a mock-up of the cover of The Gleaner with my name and picture with the words "Sandi, will you marry me?"
