Berry upsets Ludford at Milo tennis

William Berry upset number one seed Horatio Ludford 8-3 to move into today's semi-final round of the Milo Open Junior Tennis Championships at the Liguanea Club. Simon Levy also registered an impressive 8-2 win, defeating Oshane Trail to book his spot in the same category.

In other action yesterday, Stephen Davis qualified for the Under-12 boys semi-finals by defeating Antonio Rizza 8-0. Nicholas Gore also beat Brandon Azar 8-5 to move into the semi-finals and Ruben Pinchas defeated Joshua Aitken 8-4.

In the boys' Under-16, Jovaugh Mullings defeated Jhordan Clarke 8-1 while Dimitri Bird beat Peter John Goldson 8-1 to move into the semi-finals while Dylan Levy defeated Roshane Allen 8-2 to also book his spot in the semi-final round.

Meanwhile, in the girls' Under-12 category, Stephanie Davis defeated Shaunakay Cummings 8-1, Selena Blythe beat Isabelle Chin 8-0 and Isabell Rousseau defeated Shanice Henry 8-1.

Girls' Under-14

In the girls' Under-14, Maya Ricketts defeated Amanda Pringle 8-2 while Rhea Thompson beat Cassandra Chin 8-0 to move into the semi-finals.

The boys and girls' Under-10 and 12 semi-finals are scheduled for 9 a.m. today followed by the boys and girls' Under-14, 16 & 18 at 10:30 a.m. The finals are scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

In earlier matches in the boys' Under-16 event, Matthew Dennie Foster defeated Edward Crofts 8-1, Roshane Allen defeated Stefano Omeally 8-1 and Jacob Bicknell defeated Kevin Rogers 8-0

In the boys' Under-14 encounters, Alex Brown defeated Antoinne Stewart 8-4, Aman Chitani defeated Jehneil McNeil 8-0, Jai-Matthew Chisolm defeated Ricardo Smith 8-0, Johnathan Richards defeated Thomas John Williams 8-0 and Jason Lawson defeated Zachary Chung 8-3.
